The property is not owned by MC Companies; the company provides services to the resort for a fee. The ranking comes from Ranking Arizona, the state’s largest business opinion poll publication, produced by AZ Big Media.
Orchard Canyon on Oak Creek is a historic and culturally significant property in the Sedona area. Originally established as a homestead in 1908, the resort features apple trees that are more than a century old and still bear fruit. Nestled against the red rock cliffs of the Secret Canyon Wilderness, Orchard Canyon is located eight miles north of Sedona along what has been called one of the eight most scenic drives in America.
The resort is owned by Verandas Apartments, a company affiliated with MC Companies CEO Ken McElroy. It features 17 private cabins thoughtfully placed across 10 lush acres, complete with an orchard and organic garden.
Orchard Canyon has become a destination for guests seeking a green oasis and a break from modern distractions. The cabins are intentionally free of Wi-Fi, TVs and phones, encouraging visitors to reconnect with nature. Guests enjoy hiking, mountain air, dark starry nights, and farm-to-table breakfast and dinner—both included with their stay.
