At MC Companies we believe in being kind to the environment. MAC helps us communicate our efforts to our employees and our apartment communities. 

Here's MAC's Top Ten List of Ways to be Green! 

  1. Recycle cans and bottles - whenever possible
  2. Change your air conditioner/heat filter monthly
  3. Keep the air conditioner/heat on "auto" position to save energy
  4. Set your thermostat to 72 F degrees or lower in the winter;
    and 78 F degrees in the summer.
  5. Turn off lights and unplug electrical appliances when not in use,
    (use power strips to conveniently switch off TV, DVD, stereo and
    cell phone chargers in one fell swoop)
  6. Check the temperature of your refrigerator and freezer. 
    Refrigerator 38 to 42  F and freezer 0 - 5 F degrees (per utility companies)
  7. Take your own re-usable shopping bags to the store
  8. Use live green plants to decorate and purify the air
  9. Use soy candles - petroleum and nearly soot-free,
    soy candles burn about 50% longer then wax candles and they cost about the same.
    A great choice for those that don't have money to, um, burn!
  10. Use energy efficient light bulbs
